31: Ye Banks and Ye Braes
Recording Artists: Iain Burnside & Andrew Kennedy
This is Shaw’s arrangement of a traditional Scot’s song. Something to be sung on Burns Night perhaps, after the haggis has been addressed and eaten. It was published in the keys of F, G, and A.
The light Scots dialect includes the word ‘braes’ which are the ‘hillsides’, and ‘ilka’, which means ‘every’.
